People will do crazy things even on days where there is no moon at all. But the difference between a moonless night and a full moon night is that non-crazy people can see what crazy people are doing on a full moon night. I love taking walks in the park on full moon nights. The effect moonlight gives to the trees and grass is amazing, like someone spilled something that glows all over it.
There’s a sense of romance tied to a full moon night as well. All the romantic cliché’s, poems and stories have something to do with a full moon. Shakespeare is probably to blame for all of this. Young lovers love to lie in the dew soaked grass, getting their clothes wet, cuddling each other and just staring at the sky as if they have never seen the moon before.
All in all, full moon days are overrated. There aren’t any fantasy creatures lurking in our neighborhoods waiting to come out on every 28th day, hoping to eat a man or two. It's just in the movies and we should just lay back and enjoy the beauty of the night – a night lit only by moonlight that washes over our beautiful lands.
