The weather lady predicted a bright and sunny weekend and
for once it seemed that her prediction had been true. I met my friend early for
a light breakfast and some coffee before going out on the golf course. We got
our clubs and decided to walk instead of taking a cart, since it was such a
lovely day.
As we got ready to tee off, my friend started talking about
poverty, war and strife that has hit our little planet. It was the most random
thing, but I had been contemplating the same and trying to think of ways and
means to donate my time and effort to a cause that would really change the
world. We took our shots and started walking down the course. We discussed the
topic at length and decided there wasn’t much we could do, but we would do what
little we could. The topic drifted into TV shows and video games. A few minutes
later we were talking about saving the world again, only this time we came up
with a fool-proof plan to end the strife, starvation and chaos. It went a
little like this:
It was decided that
someone new needed to be president. The candidate was Jack Ryan, also known as
John Patrick Ryan from Tom Clancy’s series of novels. Ryan had the guts, the
decisiveness, uncorrupt values and the mind of a genius. With lots of
experience in the CIA rebelling terrorist attacks and nuclear threats and being
through some of the most chaotic times, Ryan was the ideal candidate. He would
do away with corrupt politicians and with the help of his friends in the CIA,
FBI and other law enforcement agencies he would restore law and order in the
country and the world.

Andrew Trevayne would have to be vice president. Again, his
will to rid the system of its corrupt members and give birth to a system that
people could trust would enhance the policies of the president. His experience
stems from being the chairman of a presidential committee probing into some of
the deals that the military made with civil contractors. He made impressive
progress and cleaned up many a mess in his time.

Jack Bauer, from the TV series
24, would be appointed Director of CIA or Secretary Of Defense. With his
knowledge of terrorism and nuclear attacks coupled with his undying love for
his nation, Bauer would be the ideal candidate in charge of all strategic
planning and defense procedures. He’d also be able to advise President Ryan on
how to eradicate terrorism off the face of the earth for good.
The presidential
security detail would have to include Agent 47 from the video game Hitman,
Domingo Chavez from the novels by Tom Clancy, Max Payne from the video game Max
Payne and Curtis Manning from the TV series 24. Presidential advisors would
have to include Tin Tin for his capabilities and amazing intellect, not to
mention Captain Haddock who is witty and vastly experienced. Advisors would
also include Brian the dog and Stewie the baby from the TV series Family Guy
for their untainted knowledge of the world and its happenings. Jay Leno would
also earn an honorary place in the White House for his knowledge of the world
and the sensitive nose he possesses for digging up stuff that no one else could
ever manage to dig up.
With the said administration in place America would
be able to clean up house and then impart that knowledge to the rest of the
world so that they may clean up their houses. Switzerland would be the chosen
destination for all global conventions and discussions.
That is our plan for saving the world. It is true that the
best plans are devised on the golf course.
